Winter in Armenia

 
In January 2004, Ivan and Ruth went to Armenia to finalise the paperwork for the sister charity of Armenian Ministries, 'Shoghik'. They were offered free accomodation in an 'hotel', but found on arrival it could hardly be equated with the Hilton. The major complaint was due to the lack of heating, and probably justified as the temperature was around 15 degrees below freezing. Therefore, the first job was to go out and purchase a small gas heater...

The trip wasn't all work. Ruth had the opportunity to visit 'Dzaghgadzor', a place renowned in Armenia, for its beauty, and a chance to go up a mountain in a chair lift, and drive a ski-mobile!

The centre of the capital, Yerevan, is beautiful all year round, but particularly in the winter snows. You can see the Christmas tree in the centre of the main square.
