Nagorno-Karabakh Refugee Crisis
After a long blockade, and the air and land attack of 19th September, the population of N-K has surrendered and lost their land. Most of the population of N-K have already fled to Armenia for safety. There are over 100,000 refugees, most of them with only a small bag of their possessions. Consequently, a massive humanitarian aid crisis is unfolding in Armenia. People are hungry, without homes, and only have the few belongings they were able to pick up as they escaped. You can help us try to meet some of these needs.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we have already been able to start purchasing large amounts of food in Armenia to help alleviate the immediate crisis of severe hunger. Much more of this help will be necessary over the coming winter months. But many of the refugees need other help as well so we are also putting together an urgent container of aid to go out from the UK in the next few weeks. We are in the process of purchasing much needed items to put in this container. However, the demand is vast, so if you have any of the following items which you could donate, this would be of great help.
- Foldable beds vacuum-packed mattresses (must be new)
- Foldable or stackable chairs and tables
- Wheel chairs
- Duvets, bedding, pillows and towels (must be new)
- New or good quality second hand adults’ clothes
- New children’s clothes
- New shoes
- Nappies, incontinence pads and feminine hygiene products

Note that requirements for certain items to be new are put in place by Armenian authorities.
Thank you for your invaluable help.
